Pastor Linda grew up in Fairfield Connecticut and is a graduate of Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia. She and her husband, Brad, spent their early years working with the Appalachia Service Project, a home-repair and home-building ministry in Lee County, VA.  After that they made their way back to Connecticut to serve at a church. They later moved to Maine where they’ve lived for 23 years. Linda has been an associate pastor, settled pastor and interim pastor during her 20+ years in ministry. Brad is currently the pastor of Second Christian Church in Kittery.

Linda and Brad have two grown sons, Nathan and Andrew, and a slightly neurotic black lab named Lola who loves car rides and visiting church members (you may meet her!).

Linda is thrilled to be the interim pastor for The Madbury UCC and looks forward to meeting you all. You can reach her by email at lhirst@maine.rr.com
The Church Musician
Nancy Pierpont, long time member, has stepped in to be our church musician as find ourselves in a place to replace our previous Director.
The choir practices on Wednesday mornings and sings at our Sunday worship service.
Although we are a small church, we believe that we are called to make a difference in our community and beyond. Our local, national and international missions and our partnership with Maranatha Indonesian United Church of Christ which shares of space and with which we are enriched to share programming, are central to our life as a church.

We enjoy a relaxed traditional service with time to greet one another in the Passing of the Peace. We value the music, the Prayers of the People, and a challenging and inspirational sermon that sustains us throughout the week.  We also encourage the congregation, including the children, to participate and contribute to the service, enabling us to express our individual insights and images of God.  We believe such sharing enhances our learning and understanding of the many facets of God's greatness.

The Congregation
The Interim Pastor
Our congregation consists of about 45 active members. In an ecumenical spirit, we welcome a number of friends who join us regularly for worship and fellowship.  Our services and programs are enjoyed by our multi-generational community.  Our talented and enthusiastic choir graces our services with a musical dimension.  Thanks to the hard work and generosity many of our members, we have a modern classroom and kitchen.
